Kelly Clarkson Shines at Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting After Losing Weight

Kelly Clarkson looked stunning as she hosted the annual Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony on NBC on Wednesday, November 29. The 41-year-old singer and former The Voice judge wore a white coat with a faux fur trim that accentuated her slim figure.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host, who moved her show from Los Angeles to New York City for its fifth season, expressed her excitement about being part of the iconic event. “I’m so excited to consider this city and Rockefeller Center my new home, and I can’t imagine a better way to kick off Christmas this year than to be a part of this beautiful New York tradition with the lighting of the tree,” she said in a statement on Monday, November 27.

Kelly also entertained the audience with her renditions of some holiday classics. The Texas native, who has released several Christmas albums, including 2013’s Wrapped in Red and 2021’s When Christmas Comes Around…, had a lot of songs to choose from. She first performed at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting in 2003, a year after she won the first season of American Idol.

Kelly’s weight loss journey has been admired by many fans, who have noticed how she flaunts her curves and legs in various outfits on her talk show. The Grammy winner opened up about her transformation and its challenges on the November 7 episode of her show, where she chatted with Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush. The sisters shared a throwback photo of themselves as kids, joking that they were “chubby” back then. Kelly related to them, saying that she had “many stages” of being “chubby.”

She then confessed that she had trouble finding jeans that fit her after losing weight. “I don’t fit into mine! I love losing weight. But jeans are so hard. I feel like jeans are so hard when you have a butt and like, a smaller waist,” she said.

The Emmy winner acknowledged that her problem was not a serious one, saying, “This is a first-world problem, I realize. And it’s a great problem.
